Mysa Counseling
Comfort. Connection. Clarity.
Hi, I’m Krystal!
Founder of Mysa Counseling
Welcome— I’m Krystal Aasen, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota and Minnesota, with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Dakota State University. I’m also nationally certified as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
The Philosophy Behind Mysa [mee: sah] Counseling
Mysa is a Swedish word that evokes coziness, comfort, and peaceful contentment—feelings we all long for, especially when life gets heavy. I chose the name Mysa Counseling because sometimes, we just need cozy: that warm hug, a quiet moment with a pet or favorite book, or the chance to pause and breathe deeply.
Focus Areas
With several years of experience in community mental health, crisis support, and school-based services, I have supported individuals (early school-aged through adults), families, and couples through a variety of life’s challenges. These challenges ranged in clinical presentations including anxiety, trauma, depression, neurodevelopment disorders, adjustment difficulties, grief, academic challenges, interpersonal relationships, domestic violence, sexual assault, and simply seeking clarity from day-to-day stressors. Today, I support teens (16+) and adults as they navigate anxiety, interpersonal relationships, a variety of life transitions, and cultivating self-compassion.
I have the ability to offer short-term goal focused or long-term supportive care to clients.
